The Ladies Auxiliary of the Southwestern Association of Volunteer Firemen of the State of New York adopted its Constitution on August 1, 1968.  The purpose of the Auxiliary is as follows:

To serve the Firemen’s Association in all of its activities, to support it in all its interests, to promote its welfare and render any assistance wherever possible, when asked by the Firemen.

To engender a fuller spirit of cooperation, sociability and helpfulness between the various Ladies Auxiliaries in the area covered by the Firemen’s Association.

To promote sociability between members.

To maintain and preserve the rights and privileges as the wife/husband, widow/widower, mother/father, sister/brother, daughter/son, or granddaughter/grandson of a fireman or auxiliary member.

To guard against all unjust acts introduced in the legislation seeking to deprive the Firemen of their rights and privileges as now enjoyed after long and faithful service.

To sponsor and fight shoulder-to-shoulder with the Firemen for the enactment of laws beneficial to the Firemen, both active and exempt.

To conduct memorial services annually for deceased members of all auxiliaries.

A memorial to be sent to the Firemen’s Home on the Hudson yearly, and a sympathy card to be sent to the family of the deceased.

To hold a convention at the same time and city as the Firemen’s Association, but in a different hall, to be conducted by and for the ladies themselves.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Southwestern Association of Volunteer Firemen of the State of New York was formed to serve the Firemen’s Association, supporting its interests, promoting its welfare and providing assistance when asked by the Firemen.

Our goal is to promote sociability between members with a spirit of cooperation between the various Ladies Auxiliaries covered by the Firemen’s Association while maintaining and preserving the rights and privileges of our members.

We will sponsor and fight alongside the Firemen to guard against all unjust acts introduced in the legislation to deprive the Firemen of their rights and privileges and will support the enactment of laws beneficial to the Firemen.

We honor our deceased members by conducting an annual memorial service in August and sending a memorial to the Firemen’s Home on the Hudson.

The Ladies Auxiliary meets three times a year; in October, April and at the Annual Convention in August.
